This looks like a great project. I have been looking for something like Homebrew (a package manager for Mac OS, which uses recipes), but for Windows for a long time and couldn't find anything. Compiling open source software for Windows is a pain in the ass.

Why isn't this project advertised on the home page of the mingw-w64 project? There is only mention of the Win-builds project which has few packages and uses binary packages instead of recipes, which IMHO is a bad idea.

Thanks! It's still quite new and much work needs to be done.

As well as the PKGBUILD recipes, we provide pre-built binaries (I
think similar to 'bottled' things in homebrew?) and in fact, primarily
we expect users to install the binaries and that only developers would
deal with makepkg{-mingw} and PKGBUILD files. Regarding homebrew, it
was something that was considered as a contender for our package
manager initially, but I think going with Arch Linux's Pacman was for
      us, a better choice.

Please feel free to fork our MSYS2-packages and/or MINGW-packages
repositories on github and send merge requests for packages you
improve. We could use more developers.

I agree it would be nice to have a link on the MinGW-w64 so I will ask
the MinGW-w64 guys to consider it.

Still no mention of MSYS2 on http://mingw-w64.sourceforge.net/ .
