The facility I work for has the opening hours from 08:30 to 22:00. Each session available for booking is 2-hour one. So it leaves the last slot: "20:30 - 22:00", an one-and-a-half-hour slot. But since the resolution is 2-hour, the last slot says "20:30 - 22:30". Is there a way to adjust the last slot so that it only places a 1.5 hours?

Discussion

  • You could make the resolution 30 minutes and the default duration 2 hours. I don'r know whether that would work? It would have the problem that users could book 30 minute slots which may not be what you want.

The other solution is to switch to periods and define periods as 0830-1030, 1030-1230, ... 2030-2200. But then if you want to do a similar thing in other areas, but with slightly different periods, you can't at the moment as period definitions are global. Hopefully that should change in the future.

    Dear Mr. Morrison,

Looks like there is no quick-and-dirty solution to this. I am thinking, since the closing time on the last slot is for display purposes, I can somehow "hardwire" it. For my future customization, I would add a custom table onto the database for the opening and closing times as the institution here changes it from time to time.

One further question: where can I add a rule to invalidate a booking if the booking start time has already pass the present time?

Thank you very much for your kind help.

    With best regards,

  • If you enable min book ahead on the area page then you can prevent ordinary users making, editing or deleting bookings that are less than the specified time away. For example if the specified time is zero, then they can't make/edit/delete bookings in the past.
