Ok, I got this working FINALLY First download this package http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/nightly/latest/gecko-sdk-i686-pc-linux-gnu.tar.gz or http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/releases/mozilla1.6/gecko-sdk-i686-pc-linux-gnu-1.6.tar.gz Untar it your home directory Replace the configure.in and Makefile.in files with the ones attached to this email Run: aclocal autoconf ./configure --with-gecko-sdk=$HOME/gecko-sdk make make install And you should have a working plugin For those of you on some other architecture other than intel, like sun, you need to get a working gecko-sdk. I have found that some of the other gecko-sdk's don't work (1.5 does not, it is missing some files). Sun users can try: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/releases/mozilla1.6/gecko-sdk-sparc-sun-solaris2.8-1.6.tar.gz I'm also commiting the changes to CVS Kevin |

Kevin, I downloaded http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/releases/mozilla1.4/gecko-sdk-i686-pc-linux-gnu-1.4.tar.gz and extracted it to /home/ant. I do not see configure.in and Makefile.in files to replace: [ant@ANTux gecko-sdk]$ find /home/ant/gecko-sdk -name Makefile.in [ant@ANTux gecko-sdk]$ find /home/ant/gecko-sdk -name configure.in I don't know where to put them. [ant@ANTux gecko-sdk]$ ls appcomps embed_base mozilla-config.h plugin string webshell content embedstring necko pref uriloader windowwatcher cookie find nsBuildID.h profile wallet xpcom dom java nspr shistory webbrwsr xpconnect showed mozilla-config.h though. FYI, I have never used Gecko SDK so I might be missing something. Phillip, The files were attached to the email and they should go into the mplayerplug-in dir. If you didn't get the files from the email. CVS should be updated in a few hours. Oh! I didn't know they go to Mplayer directory. I thought they were for Gecko folder. OK, after finding out that I need to replace the files in MPlayer directory instead Gecko's, I tried again: [ant@ANTux-P3 mplayerplug-in]$ aclocal [ant@ANTux-P3 mplayerplug-in]$ autoconf [ant@ANTux-P3 mplayerplug-in]$ rpm -q autoconf autoconf-2.13-10 I am trying to upgrade autoconf from http://www.rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/search.php?query=autoconf&submit=Search+... The FTP server isn't connecting right now and who knows if it is down forever. Does anyone know where I can get this source RPM? I don't even know if I can compile autoconf due to outdated libraries. Is there a reason why it needs the latest version of autoconf? > On Thu, 12 Feb 2004, Kevin DeKorte wrote: > > > > I got this working FINALLY > > > > First download this package > > > > http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/nightly/latest/gecko-sdk-i686-pc-linux-gnu.tar.gz > > > > or > > > > http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/releases/mozilla1.6/gecko-sdk-i686-pc-linux-gnu-1.6.tar.gz > > > > Untar it your home directory > > > > Replace the configure.in and Makefile.in files with the ones attached to this > > email > > > > Run: > > > > aclocal > > autoconf > > ./configure --with-gecko-sdk=$HOME/gecko-sdk > > make > > make install > > > > And you should have a working plugin |

Phillip, How did you get the other versions compiled? The autoconf requirement has not changed since before version 1.0. Kevin, I think I got the RPM (already compiled) from Red Hat's up2date or maybe Ximian's red-carpet. Obviously, Red Hat and Ximian don't support Red Hat Linux 7.1 anymore so I can't use them anymore. -- "Applied mathematics will always need pure mathematics, just as ant- eaters will always need ants." --Paul Halmos /\___/\ / /\ /\ \ Phillip Pi (Ant); The Ant Farm: http://antfarm.ma.cx | |o o| | \ _ / E-mail: ph...@ap...ANT or ph...@ea...ANT ( ) Remove ANT if replying by e-mail through mailing list.
