Hi. I'm using Fedora Core 2, firefox 0.8 and mplayerplug-in 3.05. I've tried older versions of the plugin. In about:plugins everything looks fine. Firefox used to play things fine, but all of the sudden it stopped. I don't know if i've installed something to make it stop working, but I dont think so. Mplayer plays movies fine, but when I put i.e. /home/kjes/movie.mpeg in firefox, its just blank. Doesnt ask to download, and it doesn't play. When I try to watch someting like http://www.bravotv.com/Blow_Out/Videos/A_Man_With_A_Dream.shtml it says "Default Plugin" "This page contains information of a type (applications/x-mplayer2) that can only be viewed with the appropriate Plug-in" "Click OK to download Plugin" I really really want it to start working again. Any help, tips or hints? Thanks -- Mvh Daniel Elssedil Kjeserud 1767 Halden, Norway http://zappa.halden.net/~kjes kj...@za... |

Hi The video provided on the webpage you linked to works fine here at me. Did you install from source? Did you follow the new instructions to install the mplayerplug-in described on?: http://mplayerplug-in.sourceforge.net/install.php What is your version of mplayer? It might be an idea to update to firefox 1.x To me it sounds like you are missing to copy some files during installation. Any help, tips or hints? > > Thanks Most likely the firefox you are using is GTK1. This is why people are=20 recommending you upgrade to a newer version of firefox, since it uses GTK2= =20 and has MANY MANY security fixes over the version of firefox you are using. mplayerplug-in 3.05 can be made to work on your system =46irst it needs a little patch edit Source/plugin.ccp at line 795 delete these lines gtk_signal_connect(GTK_OBJECT(menuitem_config), "activate", GTK_SIGNAL_FUNC(menuitem_config_callback), this); run make clean =2E/configure --enable-gtk1 make make install And the plugin should work for you.
