Hey, How do you tell mplayerplug-in/mplayer to sill the last frame when a video is through playing? By default, when a video is finished, the embedded image reverts to the mplayerplug-in logo. Can it be configured to display the last frame of a video clip instead? Thanks, Carlos |

Carlos, probably not as the plug-in does not have the images anywhere. A related question: what should the javascript buttotons do after the video finished playing? E.g. if you press stop, should you go to the beginning of the playlist, or to the beginning of the last movie clip in the playlist? (Right now they don't anything useful). --- Kevin DeKorte <kde...@ya...> wrote: > Carlos, > > probably not as the plug-in does not have the images anywhere. > > Kevin > > On Thursday 11 March 2004 07:18 am, Carlos Knowlton wrote: > > Hey, > > > > How do you tell mplayerplug-in/mplayer to sill the last frame when > a > > video is through playing? > > > > By default, when a video is finished, the embedded image reverts to > the > > mplayerplug-in logo. The javascript buttons should do the following when it is done playing... 1. The stop button should be down, the rest should be up 2. If play is clicked, it should play, what is in the playlist 3. pause, fast forward and rewind should do nothing. I'm currently working on this and implementing the javascript "filename"=20 method. Surprizingly they are closely related. Many of the state changes th= at=20 are done are the same.=20 Kevin On Thursday 11 March 2004 10:37 am, Alex Eskin wrote: > A related question: what should the javascript buttotons do after > the video finished playing? > > E.g. if you press stop, should you go to the beginning of the > playlist, or to the beginning of the last movie clip in the playlist? > > (Right now they don't anything useful). > > --- Kevin DeKorte <kde...@ya...> wrote: > > Carlos, > > > > probably not as the plug-in does not have the images anywhere. > > > > Kevin > > > > On Thursday 11 March 2004 07:18 am, Carlos Knowlton wrote: > > > Hey, > > > > > > How do you tell mplayerplug-in/mplayer to sill the last frame when > > > > a > > > > > video is through playing? > > > > > > By default, when a video is finished, the embedded image reverts to > > > > the > > > > > mplayerplug-in logo. Kevin, Please apply this 2-line patch (which is independent of all others). Without it, the player thread misses many of the wakeup signals. This patch makes the plugin retry mms:// and ASF/HTTP urls, which do not start playing, as mmst:// urls. (mplayer really ought to do that, but it doesn't). This is really ugly, but it makes a large number of sites work. --Alex --- Alex Eskin <ale...@ya...> wrote: > Kevin, > > Please apply this 2-line patch (which is independent of all > others). Alex, The patch looks ok, except for use of strncat and strncpy (I've been told t= hat=20 strlcat and strlcpy are more secure) but that is really minor. Don't bother= =20 resubmitting, I can fix that.=20 But I have noticed that newer versions of mplayer from CVS seem to handle t= his=20 better. They do the mms->mmst conversion internally. And I've always kind o= f=20 been of the opinion that I should not have to work around mplayer bugs. Tha= t=20 is the main reason I started doing the ASX,ASF, QT and other parsing is due= =20 to the fact that mplayer gave me so many different results all the time. ( = I=20 was using mplayer to give me the playlist) So I'm gonna hold off on this patch until I look into this a bit more.=20 Do you have some sites that don't work without this patch? The news.yahoo.c= om=20 site works for me without the patch with mplayer CVS. Hi Kevin, If you want a puzzle, look at http://www.thecure.com/curevision.html This site may be too braindamaged to worry about, but the problem there is that autoplay is turned off, and also the buttons don't appear. So you are stuck.. Best, Alex __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail - More reliable, more storage, less spam http://mail.yahoo.com |

Alex, Ok, I made a fix for this that when autostart is false the gui is drawn instead of the thread signalled. Hi Kevin, I guess we are running out of sites which don't work :) But, for another challenge, try the "chart show" on www.video-c.co.uk. This is probably a good bookmark to add to your testing sites, since it really stresses the playlist system. From my first look at it, there is a problem in using -loop 0 (the reference file just loops forever). But probably there are other issues as well. One other problem you will probably hit will be related to bandwidth. Somehow there should be a way to give all available bandwidth to the currently playing file. Alex, Actually I do have that url marked, and I have looked at it before. For the most part I think the plugin handles it correctly. I think, as there is a ton of data with that URL But it does not seem to play it right, not sure if it is mplayer or not. ... As for bandwidth allocation, lets leave that to a future enhancement...
