No, you don't have proper codec support in mplayer... make sure you have h264 support as well as all the optional codecs... Building mplayer with all the proper codecs is tricky. It will take you several tries to get it right. When you run configure for mplayer it will tell you what options / codecs it has. Try and get most of them working.
