Dear Kevin:

For whatever it's worth, I just noticed that the mplayerplug-in has been
installed TWICE on my system. Does this make any difference? See below.

Ben,

It should actually be installed 5 times

mplayerplug-in.so
mplayerplug-in-qt.so
mplayerplug-in-wmp.so
mplayerplug-in-gmp.so
mplayerplug-in-rm.so

Dear Kevin:

I do not use any extensions in Mozilla or Firefox. Haven't yet learned how to do that.

I tried to uninstall (make uninstall) mplayerplug-in and reinstall it as user. No problem. Plays QT movies but same problem with NBC. I then uninstalled mozplugger. No effect. Except that now when I try to get a listing of plugins (about: plugins), nothing happens. Please see screenshot at:

http://www.websher.net/tmp/aboutplugins.png

So, I reinstalled Mozilla and Firefox and Mozplugger in Synaptic. Everything is back to normal except that I still can't get a list of plugins (about: plugins) in the browsers. What happened. Hope you can help.

Benjamin
