Try any Apple movie trailers on apple.com. They all do the same.

When hitting play, I see "Getting playlist..." for a second, "Playing

for less than a second, and then "Stopped".

They are all working fine in my setup.

I don't think so. I never heard of this Live555 thing. I thought
MPlayer, its official plugins, and x264 stuff (from earlier posts) took
care of QuickTime? Are you saying I need to get this Live555 streaming
media stuff, recompile Mplayer, and try again?

AFAIK, you don't need live555 for playing those trailers, but that lib is useful anyhow for other streaming.

Hmm, I read it. Added debug=2 line in my
/home/ant/.mplayer/mplayerplug-in.conf file, tried another Apple QT
movie trailer, but didn't see any debugging. Did I miss something?

Start Firefox from the command line.
