    Hello,

I've installed mplayer and mplayerplugin (lasts versions)...
All the tests proposed on the mplayerplugin site works (streaming, files on hard disk, ...)

But when I try a trailer on the site www.cinebel.be,
    for example :
    http://www.cinebel.be/fr/trailer.asp?rub=7&r=hig&Code_film=10798

the mplayerplugin block on the connection. I can see:
    "Connection to server view.trailers.be[212.233.8.27]:1755...
    and nothing happen !!

    An idea ?

    Thanks
    Olivier

This site will work for me only outside of Mozilla/mplayerplug-in if I cut the "mms://view.trailers.be/hig/10798.asf" from the /tmp/mplay* file and paste it to either gmplayer "play url" or use "mplayer" commandline.  With "gmplayer" it gives an error regarding failure to parse header, but plays anyway.  With "mplayer" CLI, I got the following:

It works for me when I use the mplayer in command line with the good link (not easy to find).
But not in the firefox or mozilla browser with the plugin
      :-(

ok I have found the problem and it is with mplayer. The above URL contains an asx file that references two urls

      the first URL
      mms://view.trailers.be/hig/pubfr.asf
causes mplayer to hang and it does not time out

      The second URL
      mms://view.trailers.be/hig/10798.asf
      works perfectly.

I'll submit a bug to the mplayer list

      Kevin

I just received notification that the current CVS of mplayer corrects the problems with the site. I rebuild mplayer from current CVS and confirmed that the problem is solved.

      Hello,
      thanks for your help..
can you tell me with which version of gcc you compile the mplayer sources ?

I'm trying with the 3.3.2 version but I have an error :
internal compiler error: in find_function_data, at function.c:329

this error seems to be fixed in gcc... I install the 3.3.4 but I don't know how to tell the configure command to use this compiler and not the 3.3.2...
      ( ./configure --cc= ???? )

      thanks

      Olivier

        export CC={name of compiler}
        then run configure

        example

        export CC=gcc32
        ./configure --with-gecko-sdk=/home/kdekorte/gecko-sdk
        make
        make install

Oh I thought you ment mplayerplug-in. Sorry with mplayer I compile using gcc version 3.3.2 20031107 (Red Hat Linux 3.3.2-2)

But the same technique should still work.

now I will try the plugin ;-)

thanks for your very rapid answer

      Hello,

What did you do after compiling the mplayer source ?
Did you reinstall the plugin ?

Because, I still have the same problem... I've downloaded the CVS sources of yesterday....

      thanks

You should only have to install mplayer.

What does the command mplayer give you?

I have exactly the same problem like in my first post (see the first message I posted here)...

      and nothing happen !!

When you type mplayer at the command line, what do get as the first line...

        I get the following

        $ mplayer
        MPlayer dev-CVS-040607-13:35-3.3.2 (C) 2000-2004 MPlayer Team

I'm thinking that the previous version was not properly desintalled.. Because the command mplayer --version gives mplayer-pre.... , the version that is proposed on the site (not the cvs)...

I restart the desinstall and install process...

The 'make uninstall' didn't desinstall mplayer and I still had the previous version...

I had problem to 'make' the 20040609 CVS version.. so I take the 20040608 and the 'make' works fine....

Now I have the 20040608 version, compilation works without problem...

and in firefox.... : it works !!!
      :-)

Thanks a lot for your help, Kevin
      ;-)
