When I open an audio file, the volume is always set to 909%. Is there a config option to fix this? (Needless to say, the sound quality is horrible until I adjust the volume down to, say, 100%).
Using 3.40, mplayer 1.0rc1
Might want to look in your ~/.mplayer/config file and I would definitely upgrade mplayer to something newer.
I wrote my .mplayer/config by hand, there's nothing about volume there.
But really, I'm not saying this is a bug or anything, just asking if there's a way to persistently set the volume :-) Or if there isn't, maybe requesting that one be added?
No there isn't... I can see how tricky this would be add since mplayer doesn't have a initial volume setting.
Also, I would try it without your custom mplayer config file just to see if there is a filter that could be causing this.
