With the latest (git-c9e16a9) ffmpeg.exe, the following command exits without producing any output a) on the console or b) in the specified file:
ffmpeg-c9e16a9.exe -i http://video.ted.com/talks/podcast/TheAhnTrio_2010W.mp4 -target ntsc-dvd deleteme.tmp
It checks that the URI can be resolved (and fails if it can't), but doesn't even get as far as printing the FFmpeg banner or checking if the target file exists before silently exiting.
I've tried URIs for several different sites, all with the same result.
This works fine in the previous ffmpeg.exe release (svn 26112).
