I am working on a project with great public interest. This is a
restoration project; we are taking an old industrial channel and restoring
it for fish habitat and recreational use.
Phase II will involve a lot of demolition of a dam and some other big
infrastructure. We are considering installing several webcams to provide
a feed to the public on the progress of the work.
I've used motion quite a bit for my personal use and I know there's a lot
of expertise here, so I'm hoping that I can get some pointers for hardware
What we need is this:
1. Webcam/IPcam + embedded board that runs motion
2. Solar panel to power it
3. Outdoor enclosure, vandal proof
4. Directional wifi antenna
Depending on price, we could use a few of these.
I can hack this together from a webcam, an access point, and
openwrt+motion, but we'd rather look at a pre-built solution, at least
If anyone on this list provides these services, please contact me off-list.
