Hello, I´m new here and I hope, that You can help me. I've installed motion 3.2.12 under ubuntu 12.04 lts server. Motion works good with one video card (old winfast vc100 card with Conexant BT878A chipset). After install my 4-channel videocard (with Conexant BT 878A single chipset, from abus-security) motion saves no pictures or videos. I've "played" with the input option and with the treadX.conf files. Sorry, it want no work. What could be the error/s? My essential configs are: videodevice /dev/video0 input 0 norm 0 round robin (all defaults) Thanks in advance for Your help and sorry for my bad english. BR Mathias |

Hi Mathias, it look like you have to configure the bttv card in /etc/modprobe.d/bttv.conf or similar. Some bttv cards are not automatic detected. In my case I had to put "options bttv card=15" in that file. After, try your configuration with xawtv. Note that some wrong "card=" may freeze your system.
