Ok I have been experimenting with one of the logitech eyeballs namely skype
chat cheapo :)
I got the gspcav1 driver by way of some poking around. This tarball created
the module for me. (gspca) It worked fine although disappointing resolution.
I got motion to use the device fine but.
I noted if the module (gspca) was removed or uninstalled I would experience
these horendous slow death hangs. You know after long periods get some
keystrokes back and on in a loop.
Now this is after module is unloaded, removed and removed from autoload
So I confirmed that the hardware had not slipped out of adjustment by using
xawtv. At this point I had a video0 and video1 the missing video2 was in past
the usb logitech. (0 and 1 are separate bt848 controllers)
After removal of the module and confirmation the hardware worked I suspected
motion and the tmp directory.
After clearing out /tmp and rebooting all is normal again.
When does motion invalidate the use of old tmp data?
This appears to be a nasty problem? Or is it OS related?
I rebooted after each group of modifications just to be sure everything was
I see (I'm in gentoo) I can move forward a few clicks to motion 3.2.7 not sure
if that would remedy the problem?
