For *years* I only gave my first name with emails. I also had/have a separate email alias for each mailing list I'm on, including an alias for each business I have ever given my email address to [1]. To facilitate this, I've run my own mail server and use email clients (mutt, k-9, etc) that allow me to alter the From: header per email. My main point with explaining that background is this: I understood that *I* was the paranoid one, so the burden was on me to protect my privacy. I felt it unreasonable to ask others to incur extra work on my behalf. Just my 2 cents. > Also I'm not really interested in development-posts (I'm not a > programmer). This will be another discussion point on the workflow changes. thx, Jason. [1] Currently, "grep 'jason$' /etc/mail/aliases | wc -l" yields 477. Yikes. |
