Hi all motion-experts, I'm new to motion and even new to linux but have my 15 camera-motion running on ubuntu 7.10 (But not as I would like to see it) Following things I would like to see changed: My 15 cameras supply a 10fps 640x480 mjpeg-stream. actually I'm saving avi's when motion is detected and motion is supplying a 10fps mjpeg- stream itself for each camera in 640x480 on a different port. To see streams also through my dsl-upstream not only every 20 secs actualized I made a small hook in which I let motion connect in 15 further threads to each own stream but only with 1fps and strong compression (low quality) and let it stream again on 15 different ports. Everything works fine but I would like to see more performance: In my 15 1-fps threads I would like to force motion to make 320x240 streams only but even when I type 'with 320' and 'height 240' in each threads config it uses the original size of 640x480. - How can I force motion to give me a 320x240 stream out of an 640x480 original stream ??? Second Isuue I would like to see changed is that I would like to force ffmpeg to save the motion-detected avi's in h.264 - Is this possible ??? - If yes I would be very pleased to receive a novice-instruction to do so. Also I would be able to stream in h.264 for getting better results in limited bandwidth. - is this possible ??? - even by usung third-party-tools ? for the streamed outputs I need some user-verification so that not everybody is able to see my cams through the internet. - Only after typing in a valid User/Pass-combination. - How can I reach this. Hope to get some help from an expert who can give me some step-by-step instructions to get my system running as it should do. thx in advance Herbert |
