Hey Bob,
Glad to read that somebody made it! I'd definitely be interested by more details:
- I cannot find anything about mpg-streamer in google, is it a specific program?
- I'm under linux is your solution working in linux?
- how bad is the problem with the WiFi?

Thanks,

Corentin

Wonder if this is the same problem I have with my C500's. Something to do with the USB bus demand exceeding supply?

I solved that by using mpg-streamer and treating the C500's like netcams. Only issue now is WiFi blocking handling and the autofocus and exposure being a little too dynamic. (Time to look at the source code!)

Msg back if you need more details.

Cheers Bob

Hi,
I'm trying to record from two different webcam (Logitech C270) on the same computer under ubuntu 12.04 64 bits. If trying to record in default palette (YUYV) no problem up to 352x288 but above one of the second one has "no space left on device".

Then if I try to use MJPEG palette I get multiple errors:
Corrupt JPEG data: N extraneous bytes before marker XXX
thought the cameras are supposedly able to record with this palette.

Attached:
motion.log: the log for the last situation.
uvcdynctrl: the output of uvcdynctrl -f on one camera (both are the same)

Hereafter the output of lsusb:
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 8087:0024 Intel Corp. Integrated Rate Matching Hub
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 8087:0024 Intel Corp. Integrated Rate Matching Hub
Bus 002 Device 016: ID 5986:0315 Acer, Inc
Bus 001 Device 011: ID 0a05:7211
Bus 002 Device 017: ID 046d:0825 Logitech, Inc. Webcam C270
Bus 002 Device 015: ID 046d:0825 Logitech, Inc. Webcam C270

Any workaround welcome to be able to make these two cameras (and hopefully more) to record together on one controller, even at a low framerate (1 or less per second), should be possible with MPEG given that they are USB2.0 (double checked).

Thanks,

Corentin
