Transaction DATE should be changed to DATETIME because it is not indifferent when a transaction was done within the same day. The Balance after each transaction will be different.
Example:
Starting balance: $10.00
1) 2009-08-07 8:00am: -$2.00 transaction. Balance = $8.00
2) 2009-08-07 11:00am: -$5.00 transaction. Balance = $3.00

Now let's check the reverse:
1) 2009-08-07 8:00am: -$5.00 transaction. Balance = $5.00
2) 2009-08-07 11:00am: -$2.00 transaction. Balance = $3.00

As you see, the order of the transactions does hardly matters! However the final balance will be equal, the partial balance is $8.00 in first case, and $5.00 in second case. This is a bug in accounting.

If I can (optionally enter the TIME value) the order of the transactions can be kept in right order.
There should be an option, that what time should be used, when there is no TIME value entered.
My bank does the first transaction at 8:00, so I will set the default value to 8:00.

Solution:
Please add TIME column in accounting, and a default TIME option in Preferences.

we can just use primary key to indicate the sequence.
