A word of caution to our Sourceforge users, Sourceforge is experiencing technical difficulties with some of their mirrors right now, particularly the American mirrors. The other mirrors appear to be solid performers.

One of the biggest challenges in the business intelligence space today is lack of an OLAP specification for the masses to standardize on. We are very excited to tell you about olap4j, a new initiative to create an open Java specification for OLAP.
Olap4j is an open standard being driven by a consortium of companies and open source projects. Pentaho is proud to participate in this consortium, lending support, expertise and resources to the project. As leaders in the business intelligence industry, it is our commitment to our communities that drives us to help provide a standardized foundation for OLAP, which will enable and encourage the growth of quality OLAP servers, tools and projects.
The specification is now in draft form, version 0.5. Get involved! Visit the olap4j web site at http://www.olap4j.org, join the forum, download the specification, and give the team your feedback. If you are developing an OLAP server, component or application, let's work together to make your project olap4j-compliant.
