Hi Wayne, At what point is it failing? Is it that when you first try to boot from the DVD it is being ignored, or does it start to boot and then crash (such as a "kernel panic"), or is it later in the restore process? (The backup log for the sane=YES looks fine to me, although I'm no expert on the subject) Alan. -----Original Message----- From: wayne [mailto:way...@co...] Sent: Tuesday, 30 December 2008 8:35 AM To: mon...@li... Subject: [Mondo-devel] I am LOST and need help badly Running Kubuntu 8.04.1 Cannot get Mondo to work. Don't know enough to tell you what is wrong other than restoring fails. The ISO that mondo creates is burned to DVD(s) I _do not_ have a floppy drive, nor would I EVER want to use that method. I am at wits end. Mondo is the closest thing to perfect I have seen for doing what I want: Creating bootable, searchable full and partial backups. If I could JUST get it to work! People, I have been trying... FOR MONTHS to get Mondo to work, and the darnedest thing is, it is probably OH SO SIMPLE to fix, IF I knew what I was doing and doing wrong. I've included 2 sets of logs: Mindi.log and mondoarchive.log are from a run with sane as NO Mindi_2.log and mondoarchive_2.log are from a run with sane as YES PLEASE, can anyone help me? I am on SKYPE too with Vid if someone would be willing... THANK YOU ALL in advance. |
