Hi!

I have a modem I have programmed to translate modbustcp to rtu and I use the simulator in our test network.
Rtu polling is read correctly in the simulator (it receives the message from com4 perfectly) but it does not respond to the polling.
Comm log says that poll is received for 0 for 10, but nothing is written back to com4 - is this how the simulator works, that it does not respond to rtu messages?

Or is the fault in my program (it is rudimentary application that only sends the data to serial and begins receiving what
ever is written to the com, but it does not receive anything)...

I amseriously not happy that I am not notified of your bug report. Sorry.

This is not a bug though, if you check the protocol documentation, you will see that station 0 is the Broadcast ID, and is not a valid station ID (nor is 255 and 254 for some reason), and slaves must process messages sent to ID 0 but may not respond.

I am going to close this - please email me at my hotmail address, regards.

It's not a bug, station 0 is reserved as the Broadcast ID, slaves must process but not respond to messages sent to zero. I treat RTU and TCP by the same rule, sicne a converter/gateway has to do so.

Sorry for not getting notified of your request - if battling, please email me at hotmail directly.
    regards Conrad B
