I've just uploaded lirc-mod-mce 0.3.1.  For keyboard use this doesn't give you anything more than is already there in 0.3.0, but if you use other remotes, or want to do IR control, then this is for you.  It's a re-merge of lirc_mceusb with lirc_mod_mce, so that all the newer niceness of mceusb is working in mod_mce.

Unfortunately for some this still only supports Lucid (Ubuntu 10.04), but doing this was a step on the way to making things work with Ubuntu 10.10 (it's nearly there…)

For Ubuntu users, there's now an even easier way to get things working as I've (finally) set up a ppa archive:

    sudo apt-add-repository ppa:jon-hedgerows/lirc-mod-mce
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get install lirc lirc-modules-source

Configure lirc to use "Windows Media Center Transceivers/Remotes (All)" to use the remote functions on the keyboard.

Ubuntu 10.10 support to follow in a few days…

    Cheers,
    Jon
