I have an odd (to me) question. When I setup my AuthTypes as so: <Location /> AuthType KerberosV5 KrbAuthRealms DOMAIN.COM KrbServiceName HTTP Krb5Keytab /etc/apache2/krb5.keytab KrbMethodNegotiate on KrbMethodK5Passwd on KrbLocalUserMapping on KrbDelegateBasic off KrbAuthoritative off AuthType basic AuthName "Abby someone" AuthBasicAuthoritative off AuthUserFile /srv/www/com/passwd Require valid-user </Location> is it me or the basic AuthType is forcing me to only be able to authenticate by providing the user -- be it in kerberos or in the passwd file -- login and password, as opposite to letting me pass the kerberos ticket in (when I have one and do not want to enter the l/p)? |

Hi, I'm trying to install mod_authn_dbi, and I'm getting compiler issues. Here's the start of the errors: mod_authn_dbi.c:30:21: error: apr_lib.h: No such file or directory mod_authn_dbi.c:32:22: error: apr_want.h: No such file or directory mod_authn_dbi.c:33:25: error: apr_strings.h: No such file or directory mod_authn_dbi.c:34:64: error: apr_md5.h: No such file or directory mod_authn_dbi.c:35:22: error: apr_sha1.h: No such file or directory mod_authn_dbi.c:36:25: error: apr_reslist.h: No such file or directory mod_authn_dbi.c:37:22: error: apr_hash.h: No such file or directory ... I found those headers in /usr/include/apr-1/ Do I need to edit the path of the headers? or does anyone have an easier solution? And here's a bit more info, if needed: uname -a Linux mymyserver.com 2.6.9-023stab052.4-smp #1 SMP Tue May 11 19:21:39 MSD 2010 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux httpd -v Server version: Apache/2.2.6 (Unix) Server built: Sep 18 2007 11:25:59 httpd -l Compiled in modules: core.c prefork.c http_core.c mod_so.c -- - Kevin http://www.yungblood.com |

Dear List, Hmm, no activity here for two years - is anyone out there??? I need to add credentials caching to a postgresql-based authentication system. Back in 2.0 I used a 3rd-party mod_auth_pgsql that provided this, but it doesn't seem to be included in the new 2.2 database authn framework. Maybe mod_authn_cache at http://mod-auth.sourceforge.net/docs/mod_authn_cache is what I need, but what's its status? Is the code available? (There is no download link, and the sourceforge cvsweb link is broken). I have previously asked about this on the apache lists: http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.apache.user/69944 http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.apache.devel/30697 with no replies. Please help! Regards, Phil Endecott. |

I submitted a posting to this group two days ago about missing headers -- a pretty fundamental issue that concerns the deployment of the mod_auth. There has been no response and given there has only been one posting before my previous post, it appears this group is pretty much dead. Not hearing from anyone, I pursued the matter and I was able to find through Google a version of the missing header file and I added it to the source tree and make then was able to compile. the ./src/mod.authn.dbi.c references a header fileat line 46: #include "mod_auth.h" which is not included in the package nor was I able to find it in the installation of apache or apache2 on a Gentoo Linux system. Was this header file ommitted, or is there a dependency here? If the latter, where do I obtain the mod_auth.h file? Dear Open Source developer I am doing a research project on "Fun and Software Development" in which I kindly invite you to participate. You will find the online survey under http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/. The questionnaire consists of 53 questions and you will need about 15 minutes to complete it. With the FASD project (Fun and Software Development) we want to define the motivational significance of fun when software developers decide to engage in Open Source projects. What is special about our research project is that a similar survey is planned with software developers in commercial firms. This procedure allows the immediate comparison between the involved individuals and the conditions of production of these two development models. Thus we hope to obtain substantial new insights to the phenomenon of Open Source Development. With many thanks for your participation, Benno Luthiger PS: The results of the survey will be published under http://www.isu.unizh.ch/fuehrung/blprojects/FASD/. We have set up the mailing list fa...@we... for this study. Please see http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/mailinglist_en.html for registration to this mailing list. _______________________________________________________________________ Benno Luthiger Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich 8092 Zurich Mail: benno.luthiger(at)id.ethz.ch _______________________________________________________________________ |

Hi there, I can be considered as a newbie in web-programming. I have the following task to accomplish: Development of a web-based tool, using perl-cgi scripts for dynamic content on html-pages. The web-server will be an apache server (version: don't know at the moment, but could give you the information if required). There is an existing Oracle-DB with an integrated user-management (table with users and passwords etc.). The web-tool to be developed is meant to be a new GUI for the already existing application. That should be enough as an intro to the problem. So my question is: how can I use the user-information already stored in the database for an apache based web-user-login? Is it possible implement? In your pages about the libdbi (0.7.2) I read about implemented connectiv= ity to Oracle, or is not yet implemented? How stable is the whole thing? Sinc= e you don't have a version 1.0 out yet, I suppose you consider it not trust= worthy enough, don't you? Can you give me any kind of hint?
