Yes the quality is ok. There are no obvious artefacts or problems.

Sorry, I did not think of that. 

One solution would be adding that:

            if [ $1="PAL" -o $1="NTSC" -o $1="SECAM" ] 
            then
              norm=$1
            fi
            ;;

A other solution will be:
....
            cards="$cards $1"
            ;; 
        'PAL')
            norm=$1
            ;;
        'NTSC')
            norm=$1
            ;;
        'PAL')
            norm=$1
            ;;
        *)
.....
--- END ---

Choose the best solution. Or is there a better version out there ?
