Just curious but has anyone been able to successfully use a WinTV-GO PCI = card in conjunction with a script similar to Jeff Ferris's WinTV-PVR = script? Wintv2k.exe launches fine via command line but refuses to record = any video unless I manually click record. Am I better off splurging for = the PVR model?=20 -Dave |

Hello, if I remember right, that script is for PVR model only (it has HW MPEG2 = encoder). For recording from ordinary WinTVPCI you could use some of = video recording program and control it from MH. Maybe you already got = one in wintv pci CD rom. Hello, I'm currently working on email features. I have following questions: - can MH be setup to present all new mail from last check ? - could .wav attachements be used similar as in Audrey (maybe we could = add wav_play link to html page with emails) - proposition:=20 -adding a link on html page to add sender to be filtered next = time in get_email_rule - adding link to reply with recording wav message as attachment. I think that Audrey ability to deal with wav attachments is great, = specially for non-computer people. I'm willing to put effort in this, but need guidance how to get wav = attachment on incoming mail. Regards, Robert Rozman |

Sorry, looks like it was me who missed the answer :) Setting up get_email to report on only new mail depends on if you have 'leave mail on server' set on your email clients. If so, then set the mh.ini net_mail_scan_age parm to how ever often you call get_email (by default, every 10 minutes in internet_mail.pl). Or maybe slightly longer (I have mine set to 15). If you don't 'leave mail on server', it should work ok without the age parm set. For audry email attachements, do you mean to TTS the email into a wav file? Or do you get email messages with wav files attached? If so, where from? If you want to use the audry to simply play messages, I think it would be easier to do to server wav files from the web server. A memo playback web page would be pretty easy. I don't know how you would do a memo record web page very easy. I have dialup line and I do connect irregularly. So I'd like to be informed about new emails since last check. I have other email clients that leave messages on server. So no solution to this ? If I understand right, there is database of all received mails in Misterhouse and for each mail one could check whether it is new or not - or am I wrong ? > For audry email attachements, do you mean to TTS the email into a wav file? > Or do you get email messages with wav files attached? So you get email with wav attachement and you have link to wav on web interface. If you want to answer, you record answer and it goes back. (My wife really liked those features on Audrey - if good, why not use them also on PC ?). Ok recording over web would be tricky, but if you have mic and PC handy - no problem. Does this not work for you? The relevant files are in data_dir/get_email.* If you have the mh.ini parm net_mail_scan_age set (what you want if you 'leave mail on server'), it will only announce email more recent that that number of minutes. Otherwise, it will announce unread email. With somewhat random, non-periodic calls to get_email, this may not work too well in 'leave mail on server' mode. > > For audry email attachements, do you mean to TTS the email into a wav > file? > > Or do you get email messages with wav files attached? Without a way to record from a browser, I'm not sure how handy this would be. We could record on the main mh pc via the tk interface, but this would seem to limit its usefullness. Maybe there are javascript or java applets we could use to record wav files? Bruce |
