It's been nearly a year since I wrote the voice client/server programs which
allow a remote computer to listen to MisterHouse speech and sounds. Last
night I had an idea and started working with these programs again. Although
still buggy, I now have voice recognition added and working. When the
voice_client program is started, it now sends a command to MisterHouse
requesting a list of all voice commands currently enabled and when that data
is returned, registers them with the local VR engine (currently only MS is
supported). I can now talk to my machine here at home or while at the office
and have the remote MisterHouse machine respond.
I currently don't even know if anyone other than myself uses these programs.
Is there anyone else out there? If there is, do you use MS or ViaVoice or
other VR software? Would you want this feature enabled, or would you want it
as an option?
