Hey Everyone, I have 3 old Pentium 1 computers that I want to use with MH.... My main one, which I call my server, I have FreeBSD installed running my NAT, Firewall, Apache, MySQL servers. Now, I installed Misterhouse on my FreeBSD box, but I didn't realize (or don't know how from the install Docs) that I can't add Text to Speech capabilities for MH in FreeBSD.... Ideally, I would like to have MH on my Server Box because it is my primary interface, and it has direct access to the internet (allowing me to access it outside my LAN from the internet without using port forwarding, etc.) Well... since I couldn't get TTS, and this is one of the best features, I just installed Win98 on another computer I have and setup MH there... this works, but I would still like it to work on my FreeBSD box... so here is my question: Is it possible to run the main MH on my FreeBSD box without TTS capabilities, and then have it use a port on the Win98 Box w/ TTS capabilities to send the speech to, or do I have to have the TTS on the FreeBSD box as well? I hope I got this clear lol Anyway, thanks for your help! Jon Scott |

Although I've never used this feature, and you're sure to get better answers shortly, I thought I'd at least steer you towards the correct answer. Look in the MH docs for "Speak Proxy". This feature should allow you to do what you want. This will work on any Linux or Windows box with the speech enabled. Good luck. -- Sean Walker http://sean.surfmy.net/ |
