I am now looking at integrating my home alarm system with MisterHouse, and found the AD2Serial adapter which works with all Ademco/Honeywell alarms. (http://www.nutech.com/online-store/1635.html) I'm curious if anyone on the list has used one of these and made it work with Misterhouse? I read the discussions around this product and my concern is that using such a product seems to require a LOT of knowledge about the alarm, need the installer code, need to program the alarm to act as a new keypad, etc. (Or pay an Alarm installer to do this!) Thoughts? Thanks! |

I am not familiar with that alarm but you might consider replacing your panel, especially if you have trouble getting the installer code and finding mh code for it. A panel isn't that much more than the serial adapter you posted and some have serial built in and have misterhouse support. If you have wireless sensors you need to consider compatibility with a new panel as replacement of those can add up. Are you locked into a monitoring contract? If not you might want to learn the programming and take over the panel. You can probably save some money on monitoring too - there are solid companies that do it for around $10/month. -- View this message in context: http://old.nabble.com/Connecting-Honeywell-alarm-to-MisterHouse-tp34266604p34267205.html Sent from the Misterhouse - User mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |
