I just posted about this 2 days ago :) http://marc.merlins.org/perso/homeha/2009-12.html#Temperature-monitoring-and-graphing-with-1wire-devices_-digitemp_-misterhouse_-and-cacti http://marc.merlins.org/perso/homeha/2009-12.html#1wire You only need 2 wires, see my cheat sheet in the page. I've heard that "some sensors use pin 3 (orange strand) as a 5 volt supply. Others use pin 7 (green). To correctly power all sensors, the two strands should be connected", however simply linking the three seems ok to me - can anyone confirm? Perhaps its by chance my devices all line up.. > RJ45 Plug > Pin 4 - 1-Wire Data > Pin 5 - Ground That's all you need. > Pin 8 - Power I don't think the DS9490R feeds power, I don't have that wired and works fine for 1000ft Marc -- "A mouse is a device used to point at the xterm you want to type in" - A.S.R.
