I am looking for a way to send commands to mh when I am out of the house.
One use is to trigger zones of the sprinkler system for testing as we have
some zones a long way from the house. Since I don't have asterisk VOCP
seems worth a look. I have a basic cell phone - no web and don't do
texting. I have a full voice modem that works under linux. VOCP can
translate DTMF to shell commands. I see that there are a number of VOCP
modules for mh but haven't seen anything on using the command shell.
It looks pretty straightforward. One possible hitch is that the tts
feedback occurs _after_ the program exits according to the docs. I was
wanting to stay connected and enter multiple commands. Not sure if that is
possible or how hard it might be. One call per command wouldn't be ideal
but would be useful enough.
Anyone done something like this?

Well, I have to ask? Why go through all this trouble in the day and age of
the internet (unless maybe you don't have broadband?)
If you do have internet connectivity, I would just have a we page with say
"A mouse is a device used to point at the xterm you want to type in" - A.S.R.
Microsoft is to operating systems & security ....
.... what McDonalds is to gourmet cooking
