I use a pair of older door window sensors to monitor a garage door and a shed =
door and a SP554 PIR motion detector for a large room in the basement.
These units are self reporting, about every 90 minutes they send a signal to =
the base station. If a module has not checked in you are supposed to not be =
able to set the alarm without overriding the "warning" about the module not =
It appears the modules check in with one of the codes that indicates the =
switch/movement is closed/off. I am using the modules with the BX24-AHT and =
attempting to keep track of whether or not I remembered to close the doors. =
With this checking in, I think it gives the impression to mh that the doors are =
closed. I will have to test this theory by looking at the log and opening one =
of the doors close to the check in time and seeing what it reports.
This type of behavior appears to me to be a major and fatal flaw. I leave my =
door open on the house, the model checks in that it is "closed" and the alarm =
thinks the house is secure.
Anyone else work with these security sensors?
