Thought I'd post this since it's been very useful for me. I recently changed jobs so decided it was time for a real ISP conection. I'm now connected through a cable modem. My home network is behind a linux based router/firewall. The router, Freesco, is running on a 486/80, 16meg, 1 floppy, no HD machine that I had cobbled together from scrap. The Freesco (Free ciSCO - www.freesco.org) install was about as painless as anthing I've done recently. The router's pretty bare bones (LRP seemed to have more features), but it has everything I need. Kevin |
