Hi all, I've been using mh for years, and I haven't updated in quite a while (actually, since version 2.98 in 2005). It's been working perfectly for my purposes, so I saw no reason to fix what isn't broke. I use Windows XP for the server, and switching to linux isn't an option on this box because an APRS program I use requires MS MapPoint for display. I'm trying to update to a faster computer, which means I need to reinstall everything. (I may update to the latest MH at the same time, or I may stay with the old reliable 2.98). In order to get it up quicker, I copied my MH and MH_Private directories to the new XP box. I also installed ActiveState Perl ver 5.8.8. The old install used 5.8.4. I installed the required perl packages per the original documentation, but ran into a snag with DB_File. It's not available on the default repository, or on the repository at uwinnepeg.ca. I googled it, but couldn't seem to find it anywhere. I thought that maybe my install instructions were out of date, so I went to the WiKi and looked at the directions there. The Windows installation instructions are still the same. They say the post-install script may not work - to download the libdb.dll from misterhouse.net and copy it to the perl\site\lib\auto directory, which I did. That doesn't work either, I suppose because the DB_File package wasn't found in the first place. The error I get when I attempt to run MH is that it can't find DB_File.pm. Then compilation fails in Begin, line 2. Anyone have any idea where to find DB_File, or a work-around? Gary Sanders |
