FWIW: I've tested against both my scheduleworld.com and google calendar accounts (each uses basic authentication to secure calendar and optionally task info). My motivation for going this route is the abundance of sync "add ons" for every almost every calendaring device. Scheduleworld uses SyncML to sync between "conduits" (see funnambol.com) and it's calendar, task and contacts stores. Thunderbird (via Lightening), Evolution, Outlook, Lotus Notes, Windows Mobile 2005/2003, (and maybe) Palm all have conduits of this sort. Also, I just noted that the 770 has a sync mechanism to google calendar. And, scheduleworld will auto-sync to google calendar anytime something in a scheduleworld store changes. The bottom line is that it is now possible to sync multiple devices/applications of virtually any sort to some calendar and/or to-do store and that this info can now be exposed to mh (automagically). And, yes--alarm times that you set for tasks and/or calendar events are used by mh to drive announcement (speak and display) times. Lastly, if you end a calendar event's name/title with either birthday or anniversary, then you can automatically receive an email notice 5 days in advance (so as not to be surprised). Gregg |
