Glenn, You are at the same point I was at about three months ago, right down to having all the windows and doors wired, but no panel. I did a lot of research and decided on the Caddx NX-8E panel. I have the panel sitting next to my computer and have it set up for testing and integration and can see the state of the zones in MisterHouse. I don't have experience with this panel so far as reliability, but it has been out for a number of years and from what I have read on the Web most people seemed to be happy with it as a do-it-yourself project. The interface to MisterHouse works and is fairly straight forward. As I understand, you also have the capability to send arm and disarm messages to the Caddx panel. I don't think I would provide the capability to disarm the system from a web site, but possibly arm it. The MisterHouse interface to Caddx currently only listens. From what I read in the MisterHouse code for the DSC interface, you could see the status of the panel in MisterHouse, but you could not see the state of the individual zones. I wasn't looking very closely at that code, so perhaps Rob or another DSC user could tell you more about the DSC interface with MisterHouse. On the positive side for DSC, they seem to be more popular with professional installers and have been around for a long time. These are the only two security panels I have seen that have interfaces in the current MisterHouse code, but again, I have been focused on the Caddx code. Good Luck, Rod Young |
