That was me that put that in there.   The only reason I did that was to 
get the object to be initialized to 'still' (in case MH was offline for a 
while and the state is technically not known upon startup).  I think this 
was done before I knew how MH saved the object states and it may have 
already been fixed by me elsewhere and this line is unnecessary..   Im ok 
with changing that in the distro.
