Hi, I think that maybe there are some EIB to rs232 gateways (Siemens produces this single chip solutions - but some time ago they were only available to other EIB producers) , and there I see a chance to communicate with this system. Few years ago EIB was in my plans too, but at the time it seemed pretty closed infrastructure, and since Siemens is involved there is no big hope to change this in near future. IMHO I got feeling that it costs much more than its real value... Even if you get rs232 gateway, there can be some security features built in - maybe you're not allowed to enter/get all commands/evetns into EIB system. We have a local company that designed similar system, that is truely open at the fraction of the costs. I bet you have many more alternatives in Germany...
