This is a newbie Perl Question, but here it is using an example: I have an object name (for example $attic_fan) which is an X10 object = that was defined in an items.mht. I have this name stored in a text = file which I want to read in from a file and then be able to use it in a = SET command to turn the $attic_fan device on and off based upon logic = found in the alarm.pl module. Right now I read it into a variable called $x10_object, then try: SET $x10_object ON; Which does not work, but I'm not sure why (once I learn more about Perl = it will become obvious but not right now). Would appreciate some help on this Peter Woodall |
