I was able to get my new ATT Natural Voices working with MSV4. I thought it was time to upgrade to 5.1. I have tried this before and it worked ok. I just hated the newer MS 5.1 voices so I had reverted back to 4. I now have 5.1 working with the ATT voice finally, but have a problem. The crystal voice didn't seem to sound as good as what I heard on the ATT web site. It is a bit choppy and rough (but still much better than MS Mary) I started up the TTSApp that comes with msv5 and had it speak the same phrase as mh. The TTSApp allows for different quality settings, 8kHz 8bit mono/stereo, 16khz 16bit, 28kHz etc. There is a definite quality difference between mh speaking and TTSApp. TTSApp sounds very good at 16kHz/16 bit or higher (goes all the way up to 48kHz) Can these parameters be set in mh? Two other small issues (which cost me about 2 hours of troubleshooting) The sample mh.ini voice parameters refer to the Crystal voice as 'crystal', but refers to Mike as 'Mike16'. 'crystal' does not work, but 'crystal16' does. 2nd issue: there are a couple of speak commands in the common directory that use the parameter 'voice=male'. This actually helped me determine the crystal/crystal6 problem since when I couldn't seem to get mh to talk at all, it spoke once with a male voice (new mail announcement). In any event, these probably should be voice neutral in the common directory. -Craig __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
