I don't suppose anyone will have any thoughts on this one, as it seems impossible for it to be happening. A module which I have been using for months has stopped working because the file_write function won't work. My module assigns a value to $infile, as the name of the destination file, but then when the line 'file_write($infile, $data)' is executed, file_write gives the message "Warning, could not write to file ". In other words the file name is not outputted to the console - the file_write function in handy-utilities.pl isn't assigning a value to $file, even though a value is being sent as an argument. I have exactly the same problem with fileit, though logit is still working OK. I have tried re-naming $file in handy_utilities.pl, but that makes no difference. Clive |
