I've got a 16 port etherlite from Digi and it works just fine with ubuntu.
The only issue I have is having to redo the driver on most every kernel update (and once N awhile needing to reDL the driver)
But they keep it up to date so that's a plus.

I have a Digi Portserver 8 and 16 and would like to use them with Misterhouse.  Anyone have an experience using them?

My thoughts are to use serial only and keep the RF down as I am a ham radio op and concerned with interference.

Thanks for all the info.
