    would be nice also to keep everything in only 1 exe and store config in the registry. (like putty and vncviewer : no install required, no admin right required).

      I'll have to rethink the whole config system (if you look in the code you'll see it's pretty... well, not good), and it will most likely use the registry.

      I think it would be great if there was a mechanism to allow this to run from thumb drives. This requires that we store the configuration in a local file instead of registry.

        You only need the .exe and the .ini (including the MIME type file, if you want to serve HTML pages and have them viewable), copy them on your USB stick and it should work ok. If not, copy all the files in the installation directory (or the contents of the .zip) on the stick.

        When I get to writing MiniShare 2.0, I'll keep this in mind and have both options, config in an external file or in registry.
