    Hi,
I'm running MinDLNA on a Seagate Dockstar with Debian Squeeze. After the installation with apt: "apt-get install minidlna" MiniDLNA works fine if I start it manually with "minidlna". But I found a major problem: The "/etc/rc.local" file will not be executed any more after the installation. And one other issue: MiniDLNA does not start-up automatically.

    Any one seen this?

    Thx

I have and I wrote up the solution at my blog http://werehosed.mvmanila.com/2011/07/18/minidlna-and-init-d/

Basically you need to use the debian/ubuntu init system and the file supplied with minidlna is missing the debian info.

Thanks for that, I found this side and that seems to work for me: http://dev.shyd.de/2011/08/minidlna-dockstar-dlna-server/ . I've added "service minidlna start" to /etc/rc.local and the server starts on startup of the system. BTW: Scanning seems very slow.
