The file http://www.vpe-web.de/Audio/Sunfire-Subwoofer/Einstellungen/32Hz_chromatisch_16Hz_16bit.WAV causes the media scanner to segfault, thus not scanning any other media after it tried to index this file.

    ok, thanks.
Will there be a new release that includes this bugfix? I don't think I can convince the ubuntu guys to update to the cvs version. If there's a new release it should be easier.

Yes, there will be a new release with this fixed, but it may be a month or two away.

  • There seems to be another trigger of segfault.
The function insert_containers has @line 172 a string variable date_taken defined with length 13. If the scanner does not find a date, this variable receives a localized string translation of "Unknown Date" in line 193, which in some languages exceeds 13 characters. This lets the scanner process die.
I tried @home to define date_taken as a 130 char string (by just appending a '0') and the scanner runs through. (Line number are from CVS 1.81 version)

You're right, thanks for pointing that out. I've now cleaned up that area a bit, and checked in the changes to CVS HEAD.

Do you need a log from minidlna?

    BR, Michael

PS: I used this ticket because of the same content!

m1la, your file works fine for me. If you're seeing a segfault, it's probably related to a different file.
