Cygwin has had XFree86 bundled for at least a couple
of years now -- I use it regularly, to provide a
remote X session for a Linux host, where I build and
debug code, using gvd, and it works great. Don't
know if it would work with a MinGW build of gvd
though -- I don't have the time to try.
Last time I looked at ddd -- about 6 months ago --
I couldn't get on with it. IMHO gvd has a nicer
interface -- ddd looks similar, but gvd is more
friendly; ddd is let down by poor help displays,
which, for me, displayed as gobbledegook.
