I have a problem with bash under windows: when I type a non ANSI character at
the prompt, what appears on screen is '\' followed by the octal code for the
character. For exemple typing 'é' will result in '\351' on screen. It is purely
a problem of display, there aren't four character there, just one, everything
will behave corectly (for exemple passing it to a program as a parametter).
note that I have:
set meta-flag on
set convert-meta off
set output-meta on
in my .profile file
version of bash: 2.4.0
