Alright, I've managed to get the patch going with "patch -p0 <patch".
I also found out that libvfw32.a is replaced by libmsvfw32.a and libavifil32.a
by the patch, so I just had to re-link my application with -lmsvfw32 instead
I hope the maintainers will incorporate Danny's patch in the HEAD version of
w32api soon :)
