I've released an further update to the mingw-get-0.2 build series:
This release, designated mingw-get-0.2-mingw32-alpha-2, corrects a
critical defect, whereby mingw-get could select the wrong package when
searching for a match to a short form package name alias.
The bug has been present in all releases since mingw-get-0.1-alpha-3,
(although it went unnoticed until soon after the recent release of
mingw-get-0.2-alpha-1, when the use of the new "list" feature brought it
to light); all users are advised to upgrade to mingw-get-0.2-alpha-2 as
soon as possible.
The bug has been particularly noted to affect the installation of the
mingw32-autoconf and mingw32-automake meta-package groups, (whether they
have been installed directly, or indirectly as dependencies of the
mingw-developer-toolkit meta-package, are advised to check their
installed package inventories for completeness. See:
for further information, and a downloadable script to facilitate
inventory checking; run it[*] as:
$ mingw-get-info all
$ mingw-get-info installed
to display inventory for the MinGW repository or the local installation
respectively, or as:
$ mingw-get-info index
to display an index for the repository catalogue.
[*] It requires mingw-get-0.2-mingw32-alpha-2 or later, and an msys-base
installation; it must be run from the MSYS shell prompt.
Also noted at this time, there has been a long standing inconsistency in
the dependency specifications for the msys-gettext package. This has
been addressed concurrently with the release of mingw-get-0.2-alpha-2.
Users of the msys-dvlpr suite, (for development of MSYS components), are
advised to check their installation inventories, to confirm correct
installation of the msys-libintl-dll and msys-libgettextpo-dll, (e.g. by
$ mingw-get show msys-libintl-dll 2>/dev/null
$ mingw-get show msys-libgettextpo-dll 2>/dev/null
(or by inspection of the output from 'mingw-get-info all').
