I've posted the above new release of mingw-get:
All users are recommended to upgrade to this release; in addition to
fixing MinGW-Bugs #3309438 and #3313806, it addresses the annoying --
well, I found it annoying -- silent operation of `mingw-get update'
which could create a false impression that the process had hung, and
it implements the --reinstall option appropriately.
For further details, see the release notes section of the readme.txt
file displayed at the foot of the download page.
For users with a prior installation of mingw-get-0.3-alpha-1:
$ mingw-get update -vv
$ mingw-get upgrade mingw-get
should suffice to perform the upgrade; (users who have not yet upgraded
to 0.3 should omit the -vv); if this complains that mingw-get is not
$ mingw-get install mingw-get
should correct that anomaly. Please refer to the installation
instructions on the download page for further guidance.
