I have mingw and msys running in xp. Recently I acquired a zip file of sqlite-2.8.0-mingw (an embedded database) which contains a .exe, a library and a header file. Now, how should I install the binary into mingw and make gcc notice the sqlite library and header files? Any advice is appreciated. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo! Hi, To install, just copy: 1. libsqlite.a to the MinGW lib directory, e.g. D:\MinGW\lib 2. sqlite.h to the MinGW include directory, e.g. D:\MinGW\include The other file sqlite.exe is a command line tool that you can use to manipulate sqlite database files. Thank you vary much. I did as you said. But when I typed 'sqlite test.db' in msys window, I got error saying "Usage: C:\...\sqlite-2.8.0-mingw\sqlite.exe ?OPTIONS? FILENAME ?SQL?". note it did find sqlite in its path. May you have suggestion of solving the problem? Thank you again. --- Yeoh HS <ye...@ye...> wrote: > Hi, > > To install, just copy: > 1. libsqlite.a to the MinGW lib directory, e.g. > D:\MinGW\lib > 2. sqlite.h to the MinGW include directory, e.g. > D:\MinGW\include > > The other file sqlite.exe is a command line tool > that you can use to > manipulate sqlite database files. > > Best Regards, > Yeoh > ~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~ > ICT eBooks by Yeoh HS > Free Downloads at http://www.yeohhs.com > ~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~ > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Andrew Zhu" <us...@ya...> > To: <min...@li...> > Sent: Wednesday, May 14, 2003 6:54 AM > Subject: [Mingw-users] How to install packages in > mingw > > > > I have mingw and msys running in xp. I'm glad to help. I also did try to run sqlite.exe from within the Msys shell but it does not work. Usually I run sqlite from within a MS-DOS prompt window. You can do something similar to: <script name=/mingw/bin/sqlite> #!/bin/sh start /mingw/bin/sqlite.exe "$@" </script> This will open a dos window running sqlite. Hi again, Another option is to use a different tool instead of sqlite.exe to manage your SQLite databases. You might want to check out this Windows GUI program: <extract> SQLite Analyzer - it is a GUI tool to manage SQLite databases. If you don't know what is SQLite, read about it on www.sqlite.org. SQLite Analyzer can be used instead of sqlite command-line utility for win32 platform. Main features of SQLite Analyzer: - friendly GUI user interface; - syntax highlight; - bookmarks; - you can perform any SQL statement, that supported by SQLite; - you can view multi records set; - query results can be displayed in grid or in text; - results can be copied to clipboard; - customized font and color of sql editor and results grid; - connections with several databases at one time; - SQL scripts can be saved in file and loaded from file; - multi-level undo. </extract> You can download the evaluation version at: http://www.kraslabs.com/sqlite/ To other mingw users, sorry for this off-topic reply.
